SBA Report – 30th Oct 2011

It was yet another fruitful Sunday Breakfast Activity on 30th Oct. This time, it was at Aadarana Home for Boys at Malakpet. Home has 35 children and they have students studying primary classes up to class 12th. Children were very happy to have a good breakfast with AF volunteers and they readily mingled with us and showcased their talent in the form of songs, dance, jokes and anecdotes. Children at this home are very talented not only in studies but in extra-curricular activities as well.

This home was started in 2003 by Mr. Madhav Rao who runs boys home in Malakpet and girls home at Saroornagar. He mentioned to the team that their total expenses for both the homes is approx Rs.70000 and their only mode of funds is through donations given by individuals and few corporations. He is a very passionate and dedicated person, working for the betterment of these children. He mentioned to us that one of the student from Aadarana has qualified for IIT-JEE 2011 and got admission in Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, which is a great achievement for him and Aadarana. Such glories not only motivate other students of Aadarana who are preparing for similar kind of competitions but also open up new vistas of opportunities for homes like Aadarana. Probably, that is the reason it is said that there is no better investment than investing in the education of children because the kind of returns it gives help not only the student and the family but the country as a whole. Such examples should act as a role-model for other students and other similar ashrams. Mr. Madhav Rao mentioned that the students who are preparing for IIT-JEE require few text books. Immediately, without wasting any time, AF team bought the IIT-JEE text books of physics, chemisty and maths. It was also decided by the AF team that whatever support Aadarana students require for education will be given and these budding talent should be nurtured.

Aadarana Home still requires some more text books for other competitive examinations and support in payment of school fees. Hence, all those who are willing to give donations please get in touch with Vijay (9949142045).

To sum up, it is said that people who are deprived of basic amenities, facilities and support in life, are the ones who understand their significance greatly and appreciate those immensely and hence any support coming from you all for these talented students will be the best investment, whose ROI cannot be quantified.

Special thanks to Santhosh from Dilsukhnagar for sponsoring the breakfast.
